CFV Valves - Constant Flow Valves

A CFV valve normalizes the pressure and flow at the spray tip of knapsack and compression sprayers resulting in a constant flow rate and pressure coming out of the nozzle.

When you pump up a compression sprayer or a knapsack, the initial flows and pressures through the nozzles are high and go decreasing as the pressure in the chamber drops as you spray, until you have to pump it up again and then the pressure and flow again peak.

CFV - Constant Flow Valve

The CFV Valve senses the backpressure of the nozzles and automatically modulates the inlet orifice to maintain a constant flow at the nozzle.

Using the CFV Valve, the flow coming out of the nozzle is constant and so, of course, is the pressure, so that you have a steady pattern and droplet size throughout the entire tank, regardless of how much you pump. Since the pressures on these valves are factory pre-set, when the pressure drops below the setting, the valve shuts off.

Consequently, when an operator is using a backpack sprayer to put out herbicide, there is no need to pump continually, as the flow and pressure will hold constant. And if the pressure drops below the setting, spray shuts off, indicating to the operator the need to resume pumping. This reduces operator effort and fatigue, and the application is stable, constant and drift controlled.
